Calendula Offinalis Latin Name: Calendula officinalis

Parts Used: Flowers

Properties: Alterative, Antifungal, Anti-inflammatory, Antiseptic, Antispasmodic, Astringent, Diaphoretic, Vulnerary.

Internal Uses: Candida, Chickenpox, Conjunctivitis, Glandular Swelling, Haemorrhoids, Herpes, Infection, Measles, Mumps, Ulcers, Yeast Infection, Wounds, Cystitis.

Topical Uses: Haemorrhoids, Inflammation, Insect Bites, Wounds and burns.

Topical Applications: Poultice or salve for wounds and insect bites. Used in skin creams for its nourishing and anti-inflammatory properties. Sitz bath for haemorrhoids.

Energetics: Spicy, Bitter, Neutral

Organs: Liver, Heart, Lungs

Contraindications: Do not take during pregnancy.

Growth and Harvest: Well drained to poor soil in full sun. Flowers are cut in dry conditions and petals stripped for drying.
