Latin Name: Alchemilla vulgaris

Parts Used: Leaves, flowering shoots.

Properties: Anti-inflammatory, Astringent, Diuretic, Emmenagogue, Febrifuge, Haemostatic, Liver Decongestant, Styptic, Vulnerary, Tonic.

Internal Uses: Diarrhoea, Haemorrhage, Postpartum Haemorrhage, Rheumatism, loss of appetite, aids blood coagulation and promotes tissue healing, reduces inflammation and clears heat, menstrual problems especially Leucorrhoea and excessive menstrual bleeding.

Topical Uses: Acne, Conjunctivitis, Laryngitis, Leucorrhoea, Mouth Sores, Skin Dryness, Vaginal Discharge, Vaginitis, Wounds

Topical Applications: Used as a poultice for wounds, douche for vaginal infection and leucorrhoea. Bolus for vaginal discharge, Eyewash for conjunctivitis, mouthwash for sores and following tooth extraction. Gargle for laryngitis. Juice and facial steam for acne. Lotion to soften rough skin and to lighten freckles and birthmarks.

Organs: Spleen, Kidneys

Contraindications: Avoid during pregnancy
